Look for The Photographer

There’s a great new book coming out next month: The Photographer. The book features the breathtaking work of Didier Lefèvre, who documented the work of Doctors Without Borders in Afghanistan beginning in 1986. They began an incredibly dangerous humanitarian mission, attempting to save the lives of Afghans wounded by being caught in the middle of the devastating warfare tearing their country apart. Lefèvre took an astounding number of photos during his time there, but anytime there aren’t any existing photos needed to illustrate his story, artist Emmanuel Guibert (Alan’s War) has seamlessly provided the artwork. Lefèvre unfortunately passed away in 2007, but the gift he left behind—this book—will ensure his memory and the work he and the doctors did survive triumphantly.
