Save the Date: Comic Arts Brooklyn on November 9

Tagged:

The crowds won't be as large at Comic Arts Brooklyn as they were at New York Comic Con, but enthusiasm for the art form will certainly be just as high. The one-day festival, running from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. will be split between Mt. Carmel Church at 275 N. 8th St. (that's where you'll find all the publisher booths and artist displays) and The Knitting Factory at 361 Metropolitan Ave. (for panels and discussions). Among the many events to look forward to is a discussion moderated by Columbia librarian Karen Green called "The New Generation: What We Like" and described as "four upcoming artists—Michael DeForge, Lisa Hanawalt, Joe Lambert & Katie Skelly—discuss specific works that inspired them to become cartoonists." Find much more info about the whole event and all the many guests (like Jeff Smith, Dash Shaw, David Mazzucchelli, Paul Auster, and Art Spiegelman at CAB's homepage.
